Missing my Dad....

Hey y'all. I didn't 'disappear' from earth. Been a little busy w/family and in a little bit of a creative rut as of now. Today makes a year since my Dad passed, 9-12-08. It's been a long, lonely year without him, he was the 'life of the party', the 'backbone of our family'. It's really hard for me. I hated him as a kid, he wasn't my 'real' Dad. That man, I met only once in my life and care not to meet him again. Henry WAS my REAL Dad in the end. He raised me since I was a toddler. I Loved him deeply for raising us and loving us, when we were so bad and mean to him. I've told him time and again how greatful I was that he raised me! In a tribute to him, the whole family went to his gravesite today, said a prayer, Mom thanked us for being there for her, today and everyday since his passing. All the kids got a ballon and signed it and wrote him 'notes' of love and adoration. I wrote on my sons. When we released the ballons, it was so emotional. It stormed the day he passed, Hurrican Ike was passing over us that day. It stormed today, He was crying for us and was happy that we remembered him in a good spirited way. I just wish he was here to see me marry the only man I dated that he ever liked. He wanted to see us get married, I kept being a chicken, and when we found out he had cancer, we started planning a quick wedding, so he'd see it. Unfortuntely, he kept getting sicker and I felt guilty planning a wedding while he was in the hospital fighting for his life. I regret that I kept getting cold feet since 05 when my fiancee proposed to me. That's all my Dad kept asking us, 'when y'all gettin married?' I still hear those words today. It'll be next year, not sure of the date, but it will happen in 2010! I love you Henry, my Dad, I miss you so much, it's so painful, even after year.
Forever, Your Daughter.

Photobucket Thanks to Shani of Wicked Princess Scraps for the use of her kit, Strength In Me, a FTU kit to help raise awareness in testicular cancer. No matter what kind of cancer it is, if you love someone with cancer, be by their side and 'Love them through it'.
